New Street Fighter 6 Yasmine gameplay has given players a much closer look at how Capcom’s first Year 4 fighter will operate when she joins the roster on 3 August 2026.
The new character overview focuses heavily on Yasmine’s movement, pressure and combo routes. Capcom describes her as a rushdown fighter who uses Eskrima alongside a karambit knife named Alon, giving her several ways to close distance both on the ground and in the air.
Yasmine is from the Philippines and learned to fight alongside her older brother under the guidance of their grandfather. Her brother later disappeared, which eventually sends her searching for him after she rediscovers her motivation to fight.

How Yasmine’s Bayani Mode Works
Bayani Mode sits at the centre of Yasmine’s offensive game plan.
The powered state enhances Alon and improves parts of her moveset after she lands specific attacks. Daloy ng Tubig is one of the main ways to activate it, giving Yasmine a quick forward-moving knife attack that can start or extend combos.
Players can follow Daloy ng Tubig with Alon, a multi-hit follow-up that changes its finishing strike depending on the attack strength used. Landing the sequence places Yasmine into Bayani Mode.
The Overdrive version provides more flexibility. It can connect from light attacks, transition into Super Arts and enhance Alon with a stronger slicing sequence without immediately ending Bayani Mode.
That creates a clear risk-and-reward loop around maintaining pressure. Yasmine can use her mobility to reach an opponent, activate Bayani Mode through a successful opening, and then use the powered state to increase the threat of subsequent combo routes.
The style should feel familiar to players who favour aggressive characters. Street Fighter 6 already places heavy emphasis on managing offensive pressure through its universal Drive system, which also plays a major role in how fighters extend attacks, defend and control momentum.
Yasmine’s Special Moves and Super Arts
Yasmine’s toolkit is designed to keep opponents uncertain about where the next attack will come from.
Talim ng Hangin is a forward-moving knife strike that can help close space. Yasmine can cancel the move before the attack fully develops, creating opportunities to bait defensive reactions rather than committing every time.
Her aerial mobility comes through Mukha ng Langit, a leap that supports several follow-ups. Depending on positioning, the move can also create cross-up opportunities by placing Yasmine on the opposite side of an opponent.
Lipad ng Agila provides her anti-air option. Its Overdrive version gains additional protection against incoming attacks, giving Yasmine another answer when opponents attempt to challenge her from above.
Against players who try to maintain distance, Pangil sa Likuran sends Alon towards the opponent before the knife returns to Yasmine. Depending on spacing, the projectile can connect on both its outward and returning paths.
There is an important limitation. If Yasmine is hit while Alon is travelling, the attack is cancelled, meaning opponents still have an opportunity to punish careless use.
Her Super Arts reinforce the same aggressive design.
Hiwa ng Kalangitan launches an opponent before driving them back towards the ground. Its invincible startup also gives Yasmine a defensive response when an opponent applies too much pressure.
Nakatagong Lakas extends Bayani Mode, allowing Yasmine to keep Alon empowered for longer and create more opportunities to use enhanced attacks.
Her Level 3 Super Art, Pamumukadkad ng Sampaguita, is the biggest damage option revealed so far. The move works naturally as a combo finisher but also includes startup invincibility, giving it potential as a reversal when Yasmine is under pressure.
How to Unlock Yasmine in Street Fighter 6
Yasmine releases on 3 August 2026 across PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Players can purchase her individually using Fighter Coins. Anyone who owns the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass receives Yasmine automatically when she becomes available.
Her default Outfit 1 uses Eskrima combat clothing, while Outfit 2 depicts Yasmine in her school uniform. Outfit 2 can be obtained by maxing out her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or purchased using Fighter Coins.
Yasmine also begins a Year 4 roster that will eventually include Arjun, Tifa Lockhart and Bosch. Arjun is scheduled for autumn 2026, Tifa for early 2027 and Bosch for spring 2027.
Her launch will not affect Yasmine alone either. Capcom has confirmed that battle balance adjustments for the full Street Fighter 6 roster will arrive alongside her release on 3 August.
That makes Yasmine’s arrival a more significant update than a standard DLC character drop. She introduces an entirely new rushdown fighter and starts Year 4, while existing characters will also have to adapt to another round of balance changes.
