Running through Sunday, September 27, Xbox’s latest Free Play Days event gives all Xbox members temporary access to PGA TOUR 2K25 and The Division 2 without requiring Game Pass, while The Escapists 2 and Young Suns are available to Essential, Premium and Ultimate subscribers.
Unlike the free-to-keep giveaways regularly featured in Free Games, these are weekend trials rather than permanent licences. Access ends with the promotion unless the game is purchased or remains available through a subscription, although Xbox confirms that Gamerscore and achievements earned during Free Play Days carry across if players buy afterwards.

PGA TOUR 2K25 provides the Standard Edition for the event, with this weekend also overlapping the Championship at Del Cerro Ranked Tour. Its Captain’s Call quest awards 250 VC, three Fittings, a Level Up Token, 600 MyPLAYER XP and a Silver Leather Watch after completing its three golf objectives. The UK Microsoft Store currently lists the game at £17.99, down from £39.99.
The Division 2 is arguably the biggest saving. Xbox advertises up to 90% off the Standard Edition, and one current UK Store listing reduces the £24.99 base game to just £2.49. Premium and Ultimate subscribers already have access through Game Pass, meaning Free Play Days is particularly useful for Essential members and players without a subscription.
Anyone returning after some time away will also find a considerably different game. The current Into the Dark season introduced Toxic and Balanced Dark Zone variants alongside new gear, seasonal modifiers and broader PvP changes.
The Escapists 2 needs a Game Pass membership for weekend access, but its current UK sale is particularly aggressive. Microsoft has reduced the base game from £19.99 to £3.99, while the Game of the Year Edition costs just £4.59 and includes all four major DLC packs alongside the base game. For another 60p, that is easily the better permanent purchase if the trial convinces you.
Young Suns is slightly different again. KO_OP’s 1-4 player space life sim only left Xbox Game Preview and reached Version 1.0 on August 31, making this one of the first Free Play Days opportunities since its full launch. Premium and Ultimate members already receive Young Suns through Game Pass, so the temporary offer mainly expands access to Essential subscribers. Xbox explicitly confirms that its Free Play Days access covers both console and PC.
I think that last point is worth separating from the rest of the line-up because Xbox specifically calls out Young Suns as playable on both console and PC during the promotion. PGA TOUR 2K25 supports Xbox Play Anywhere under normal ownership, but Microsoft’s Free Play Days announcement does not explicitly say its temporary PC access is included, so I would not assume the same entitlement applies here.
Players can install participating games through their individual Xbox Store pages, or on console by opening the Store’s Subscriptions section and finding the Free Play Days collection.
