Key Highlights:
- Mortal Kombat 1 Season 6: The Reptile introduces Reptile as the new Invasions boss until 23 July.

- Homelander joins Kombat Pack 1, while the June update improves Invasions and PC graphics options.
NetherRealm Studios has launched Season 6: The Reptile for Mortal Kombat 1, bringing new challenges, boss encounters and reptilian-themed character skins to Invasions mode.
The season began on 4 June 2024 and runs until 23 July, with Reptile taking centre stage as the latest Invasions boss. A new trailer showcases the rewards awaiting players, alongside the arrival of Homelander from The Boys.
The latest collection includes Snake Bite Baraka, Zaterran Fencer Kenshi, Crystal Komodo Sub-Zero, Serpentine Queen Sindel, Krocodilian General Shao, Entropic Gold Havik and Thunder Lizard Reptile.
These seasonal skins can be earned through Invasions and Kombat League, giving players new reasons to complete encounters and progress through the season.
The accompanying June update also introduces additional cosmetics, including Earthrealm skins for Kitana, Mileena and Reptile, alongside Mileena’s Deadly Hybrid appearance. These are separate additions from the season’s earnable reward collection.
Reptile’s role as the central boss continues the approach used in earlier Invasions updates, including Season 3: The Cryomancer, which featured Sub-Zero and winter-themed rewards.
Beyond new costumes, NetherRealm has introduced several improvements to Invasions. Players can now turn around while travelling between encounters, preview rewards before boss fights and carry more Talismans and Relics.
Seasonal Towers also display additional reward information, while certain encounters now show elemental advantages and disadvantages.
I think the ability to reverse direction is one of the more useful changes here. It addresses a basic navigation restriction that could make returning to previous encounters unnecessarily awkward.
These adjustments are particularly relevant to the way Invasions mode works, where players move between encounters, manage equipment and complete seasonal challenges.
The wider update also delivers character fixes, move-list corrections and adjustments to throw pushback at close range. Geras, for example, now has improved airborne classification for specific attacks, including his Bulldozer string.
PC players receive Intel XeSS 1.3, adding six upscaling quality presets and XeSS Native Anti-Aliasing on supported hardware, alongside stability improvements.
NetherRealm has detailed the full collection of fixes and adjustments in its official June patch notes.
Meanwhile, Homelander is now playable for Kombat Pack owners, following his first Mortal Kombat 1 teaser in May.
The superpowered villain entered early access on 4 June, with standalone availability scheduled for 11 June 2024.
Season 6 therefore delivers two distinct additions: a Reptile-themed Invasions season with new challenges and rewards, and another playable Kombat Pack Fighter. Together with the navigation and inventory improvements, the update gives returning players more than just another set of character skins.
