The Dissection Room power puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake is solved by rotating the circuit sections until electricity reaches every Power Node.
The correct input is 3-2 on Assisted or Standard difficulty and 3-2-2 on Hardcore or Professional difficulty. These numbers show how many times to press each circuit control from left to right.
After completing the circuit, move the selector to the central POWER symbol and confirm the calibration. Lighting every Power Node does not open the door by itself.

Where to Find the Dissection Room Puzzle
The Dissection Room Electronic Lock Terminal appears in Chapter 13, after Leon enters the Island laboratory while searching for Ashley.
The terminal controls the locked entrance to the Dissection Room. However, the terminal has no electricity when Leon first reaches it.
Follow the corridor south-east of the Dissection area to find the Power Control Lever. Pulling this lever reroutes electricity towards the Dissection Room and activates its Electronic Lock Terminal.
You can also unlock the nearby metal shutter to create a shorter route between the laboratory corridor and the Merchant area.
How Does the Electronic Lock Terminal Work?
The Electronic Lock Terminal contains several rotatable circuit sections.
Each button controls one section of the circuit. Pressing a button rotates every line contained within that section.
The objective is to create uninterrupted electrical routes from the power source in the upper-left corner to every marked Power Node.
The required number of Power Nodes depends on the selected difficulty:
- Assisted and Standard: Two Power Nodes
- Hardcore and Professional: Three Power Nodes
The circuit is only calibrated when every required Power Node is illuminated and Leon confirms the central POWER control.
The following sequences assume that you have not already rotated any circuit sections. Leaving and reopening the terminal does not necessarily restore the starting arrangement, so reload the latest save or manually return the controls to their original positions if you have already changed them.
Assisted and Standard Dissection Room Solution
The Assisted and Standard solution uses the first two circuit controls.
Starting from the untouched puzzle:
- Press the first control three times.
- Press the second control twice.
- Do not press the third circuit control.
- Move the selector to the central POWER symbol.
- Confirm the calibration.
The short form for this solution is:
3-2
Both lightning-bolt Power Nodes should now be illuminated. Confirming POWER unlocks the Dissection Room door.
Hardcore and Professional Dissection Room Solution
Hardcore and Professional add a third Power Node and require all three circuit controls.
Starting from the untouched puzzle:
- Press the first control three times.
- Press the second control twice.
- Press the third control twice.
- Move the selector to the central POWER symbol.
- Confirm the calibration.
The short form for this solution is:
3-2-2
All three Power Nodes must be illuminated before the terminal accepts the calibration.
Why Is the Dissection Room Door Not Opening?
The door remains locked if you illuminate the Power Nodes but do not confirm the circuit.
Look at the selector underneath the puzzle display. Move it across until the central POWER symbol is selected, then press the interaction button.
The terminal should accept the calibration and unlock the Dissection Room.
If the screen still displays “Insufficient Power: Calibration Required”, check that every required lightning-bolt symbol is illuminated. Hardcore and Professional require three powered nodes rather than the two used on Assisted and Standard.
The numbered solution may also fail if you rotated part of the circuit before following it. The 3-2 and 3-2-2 sequences begin from the terminal’s original configuration.
What Does the RE4 Remake Dissection Room Puzzle Unlock?
Solving the Electronic Lock Terminal opens the entrance to the Dissection Room.
The Level 1 Keycard is located inside the newly accessible room. Leon needs this keycard to enter the Freezer and continue upgrading his security clearance during Chapter 13.
Prepare before collecting the card. Removing the Level 1 Keycard activates the nearby Regenerador and begins Leon’s first encounter with this enemy type.
The Regenerador can restore damaged body parts, and Leon does not yet have the Biosensor Scope needed to reveal its internal parasites. Stunning the creature and escaping is usually more economical than spending large amounts of ammunition trying to kill it at this stage.
After leaving the Dissection Room, return to the Power Control Lever and reroute electricity towards the Freezer. The Level 1 Keycard will then open the Freezer entrance.
The Freezer also contains an optional Electronic Lock Terminal. Solving the Resident Evil 4 Remake Freezer power puzzle opens the side room containing the LE 5 submachine gun.
