After an intense gauntlet of firebomb-flinging catapults, Leon enters the majestic grounds of Salazar’s intimidating Castle. Here an optional side quest challenges sharpshooting players to locate and shatter six sneaky Blue Medallions scattered around the Castle Gate area.
Completing the Destroy the Castle Gate Blue Medallions Merchant Request earns 5 Spinels from the Merchant, making it well worth the effort. Fortunately, a Blue Request Note provides helpful clues that pinpoint where to find each elusive medallion.
Checking the Handy Blue Request Note
Near the Castle entrance, eagle-eyed players can spot a Blue Request Note posted on the wall. Reading it marks the six medallion locations on Leon’s map for easy reference. Destroying all six without checking the note first is possible but far more difficult.
So be sure to check that note early on to steer clear of unnecessary frustration in the tasks ahead!
Medallion #1 – North Ruins Window
The first medallion hangs in a small rectangular window amidst the ruins along the area’s northern end. Refer to the map above to find your starting point. Players can shoot it while standing near the door by the northwestern tower or right from the bridge leading to the cannon tower.
Medallion #2 – Next to the Cannon
Head back to the cannon platform marked by the waving yellow banner. Spot the second medallion sits suspended beneath a sheltered arch on the platform.
Medallion #3 – Above the Elegant Bangle Chest
Next, just past the Elegant Bangle chest location, medallion #3 hangs overhead between support beams. Fire a precise shot upward from the ground below or all the way from the southern tower’s bridge.
Medallion #4 – Hanging Among Trees
This one takes sharp eyes! From the southern cannon tower bridge, peer down left toward the forest. Climb up the ladder and Medallion #4 barely glints amongst the leaves of a faraway tree. Move further along the bridge for an optimal angle.
Medallion #5 – Northwestern Tower
After entering the door near the northwestern tower, a chest at the back contains the elusive Elegant Bangle treasure. To the left sits the 5th medallion, waiting to be blasted off the wall. Make sure to use your knife on this one to save on ammunition as it’s by far the easiest in difficulty.
Medallion #6 – Cannon Tower Mechanism
Last up, return to the cannon tower interior where Leon originally found the counterweight. Deep in this mechanism, medallion #6 twirls around the rotating apparatus. Circle the device to shoot it down.
With all six Blue Medallions shattered, the Merchant handsomely rewards Leon with 5 Spinels for his expert display of marksmanship.
