Wolfenstein 3D

First-person shooter Wolfenstein is set to return to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in North America shortly, and it’ll also be arriving on the PSN in Europe in the future too.

Gamers can purchase the much loved shooter on Steam, PSN and Xbox Live Arcade for only £3/$5. After Bethesda acquired all the rights and purchased id Software back in 2009, Activision decided to publish Wolfenstein 3D on all of the major platforms.

The game consists of six episodes, each with multiple levels set in Nazi-controlled castles, bunkers, and secret facilities. Players must navigate through the levels, finding keys, unlocking doors, and locating secret areas to progress further. Throughout the game, players can collect various weapons, including pistols, machine guns, chainguns, and rocket launchers, to defeat Nazi soldiers and officers. Additionally, power-ups such as health packs, ammo, and treasure can be found to aid in the fight against the enemy.

Wolfenstein 3D features a variety of enemies, including Nazi soldiers, officers, attack dogs, and bosses. Each enemy type has different levels of difficulty and requires different strategies to defeat. It received critical acclaim upon its release and has since become a classic and influential title in the gaming industry. So with those accolades, it’s definitely well worth a look at.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is currently in development at the moment by none other than MachineGames. The latest in the series is expected to be released later on this year. Fans should see the latest installment sometime around the fall of 2013.
