Hold onto your cowboy hats, folks, as The Sims 4 saddles up for a rootin’ tootin’ venture into the wild yonder with a brand-new expansion pack dedicated to the rustic charm of ranch life and horse rearing. Since the release of The Sims 4’s fundamental game back in 2014, it’s been enlivened by an abundance of DLC packs, each addressing diverse interests. From the subtle to the wildly specific, the vast medley of packs available is a testament to the variety on offer.

The Sims 4’s Journey from Base Game to a Ranch Fiesta

As The Sims 4 approaches its first decade, the unquenchable thirst of the Sims community is far from satiated. Fan demands continue to echo through the online forums. Many gamers reminisce about ‘Generations’, the iconic Sims 3 pack, with requests for legacy gameplay growing louder. The game creators listened, leading to the ‘Growing Together’ expansion pack released earlier this year, focusing on enhancing family interactions.

Bridle your excitement, Simmers, as another much sought-after pack is on the gallop towards us. The ‘Horse Ranch’ expansion pack is finally here, addressing the long-standing clamour for the inclusion of horses. The trailer, unleashed on June 22nd, promises a galloping good time, and an accompanying blog post by The Sims Team offers a peek into what lies in store. But it’s not just about horsing around; the pack promises a wholesome farm experience.

From goats and sheep to barbecues and cowboy hats (and let’s not forget the pint-sized hats for our equine friends), line dancing, vineyards, farmhouses, horse training, and breeding – the pack is chock-full of rural delights. The grand reveal and playtime commences on July 20th, 2023.

Fans will be thrilled to know that this expansion introduces a much-awaited aspect: Native American representation. The development team, in collaboration with a cultural consultant, aims to introduce Indigenous culture to The Sims 4, including traditional cuisine, furniture, and attire.

With ‘Horse Ranch’ ready to trot off the wish list, the community’s anticipation for a fairy pack heightens. Despite the multitude of supernatural beings already at players’ disposal (aliens, vampires, werewolves, spellcasters, mermaids, and ghosts), the ethereal fairies remain conspicuously absent, despite recurring fan petitions. Let’s hope they flit into the realm of The Sims 4 before the developers set their sights on the next iteration of The Sims series.

The Sims 4 is currently available on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Gallop on, folks!
