Blizzard recently disclosed details surrounding Overwatch 2’s Season 6 battle pass, including confirmation of an eminent Mythic-tier Ana skin arriving with the impending Invasion update. This mammoth content drop commences the hero shooter’s long-awaited PvE mode, constituting Overwatch 2’s most ambitious expansion to date.

The Invasion update announced in June catalysed both excitement and scepticism across the Overwatch community. While some pioneering co-op missions and a new Flashpoint PvP mode seem promising, previous admissions of scaled-back PvE scope disheartened fans anticipating an extensive campaign. Nevertheless, Invasion brings substantial additions beyond PvE.

As usual, Season 6 introduces a fresh 80-tier battle pass brimming with cosmetics like the Mythic Ana skin. These prestigious complete redesigns represent Overwatch 2’s rarest items, currently limited to a handful of heroes. Alongside Ana’s new look, Cassidy and Kiriko receive exclusive Null Sector-themed Legendaries through the Invasion pack rather than the pass.

This premium bundle provides permanent PvE access, the premium battle pass, Overwatch 2 Coins and tier skips. The skins themselves remain officially unrevealed, although deleted tweets depicted presumed images of said designs. While breaching Blizzard’s promotional plans, these potential leaks offered fans an early glimpse.

Overwatch 2 Ana Skin

Existing Mythic skins like Genji’s cybernetic makeover and Junker Queen’s mechanised mech suit inspire awe in Overwatch 2 players. Talented artists continue conjuring brilliant conceptual skins indicating untapped potential for Mythics moving forward. Ana’s impending masterpiece will raise the bar yet again.

Invasion’s array of fresh cosmetics and game modes provide a content infusion to rejuvenate players for Overwatch 2’s second season. PvE’s arrival, however condensed, realises a long-held ambition that can be gradually expanded over time. Flashpoint also promises replayable multiplayer variety beyond staple modes.

For sceptics disheartened by previous cutbacks, any substance sustaining the game’s lifespan helps justify prolonged investment. New skins, missions and activities maintain engagement across the player base. While PvE’s scope suffered setbacks, its mere addition is cause for celebration.

Mythic skins entice players towards each seasonal battle pass alongside the other riches within. Veteran Ana finally receiving her due through a spectacular cosmetic creates hype befitting Overwatch 2’s most significant update thus far. Savour Invasion’s offerings when Season 6 commences.

Overwatch 2 is currently available in early access on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
