Sega and Sonic Team have previewed some of the music arriving in Sonic Frontiers‘ final DLC update The Final Horizon launching in late September. This third post-launch update for Sonic Frontiers is highly anticipated, as it will introduce playable characters Amy, Knuckles and Tails.
The latest trailers for The Final Horizon tease new content like a potential Super Sonic transformation, an upgraded Supreme Titan boss, and the new characters gathering the seven Chaos Emeralds. With the free DLC weeks away, Sega shared a video previewing songs from the update.
Video Previews “New Chapter Themes” for Characters
The five-minute medley video spotlights “New Chapter Themes” for each playable character. It’s divided into three segments focusing on Amy, Knuckles and Tails themes composed by Sonic Frontiers musician Tomoya Ohtani. Fans praised the individual character music tracks, reminiscent of Sonic Adventure 2, evoking exploration and entrapment in Cyberspace.
After the song preview, Sega and Ohtani announced a second Sonic Frontiers soundtrack titled “Paths Revisited” with 46 songs releasing digitally October 2nd and physically November 15th. Ohtani tweeted most tracks were composed for The Final Horizon, inviting fans to enjoy them.
In related news, the new 2D adventure game Sonic Superstars featuring everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog has finally revealed a release date. So when super-fans are finished up with this title, they can instantly jump straight over to the next one.
Sonic Frontiers is currently available on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The Final Horizon DLC arrives in late September, introducing Amy, Knuckles and Tails as playable characters. Music previews showcase character themes by composer Tomoya Ohtani.
