Top 7 Best Mounts in the World of Horizon

In the massive open world video games Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, not all robots are dangerous enemies. Some can be overridden and used as helpful mounts for traveling long distances fast. Here are the best robotic mounts Aloy can take control of:

7- Fast and Smart Striders

These horse-like machines are the original mounts in Zero Dawn. With their speed and agility, Striders make great transportation early in the game. Sneaking up to override a Strider can be tricky since they tend to flee from you. They’re also pretty basic compared to later mounts.

6- Use Chargers’ Horns for Surprise

Resembling rams with curved horns, Chargers are fast sprinters encountered early on in Forbidden West. Their speed helps cover ground quickly in the huge map. You can use their horns to surprise attack enemies while mounted.

5- Broadheads: Heavy Protectors

Broadheads are small cow-shaped animals, mostly discovered in Zero Dawn. They can provide some protection in combat. However, the weighty size makes them hard to move in tight spaces. Escaping enemies on narrow paths is tough.

Bristlebacks are the second mount found in Forbidden West, when Aloy spots Erend after she unnoticeably left Meridian. They’re fast, vigorous, and bulky. With tusks, blades and fire attacks, few machines match their might.

The flying Sunwings are a major new addition in Forbidden West. Finally players can soar through the skies overlooking the whole landscape. Learning to override these bird-like bots opens up exploration. Gliding by Sunwing makes for breathtaking views.

1- Explore Under Water with Waterwings

Waterwings are similar to Sunwings but feature a new ability to dive into the water. These machines were introduced in the Burning Shores DLC, allowing Aloy to evade enemies’ attacks by diving beneath the waves.
