Players who want one last opportunity to experience the game can still download and play it until these dates.
Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight’s PC and console versions will continue with full support and new content.
Why Is Dead by Daylight Mobile Shutting Down?
The decision stems from publisher NetEase Games redirecting its resources to other projects.
While speculation abounds, some believe the success of other NetEase titles, such as Marvel Rivals, influenced the shift.
Others attribute the shutdown to dwindling updates and event mishandling. Despite the theories, no official confirmation beyond NetEase’s strategic shift has been provided.
Rewards for Transitioning Players
To thank mobile players, Behaviour Interactive is offering an extensive welcome package for those transitioning to PC or console versions of the game.
What’s Included in the Welcome Package?
- 500,000 Bloodpoints
- 2,250 Iridescent Shards
- Additional rewards based on in-game spending and accrued experience:
- Up to 5,000 Auric Cells and 108,000 Iridescent Shards for purchases exceeding $200.
- Up to 2 million additional Bloodpoints for high-level progress.
Players must log into both their mobile and Behaviour Interactive accounts and select their preferred platform for the rewards before March 20th, 2025. Those who already play on PC or console can still claim the welcome package.
Licensing and Cosmetic Transfers
Many players are concerned about which cosmetics will transfer to the main game. Licensed content from collaborations like Stranger Things may not carry over due to licensing constraints.
The chapter, which introduced fan-favourite characters such as Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and the Demogorgon, was removed from sale in November 2021 following the expiration of its licensing agreement.
While players who owned the content before its removal retained access, its availability for transfer from the mobile version remains uncertain.
However, skins from the Tomb Raider and Castlevania series are already available in the main game.
For players transitioning from mobile, Dead by Daylight’s PC and console versions provide an expansive experience.
Additionally, spin-offs like What the Fog offer ways to explore the horror title’s universe further.
While the mobile version’s closure marks the end of an era, Behaviour Interactive’s continued focus on its flagship PC and console versions ensures the legacy of Dead by Daylight remains intact.
Players can make the switch now to prepare for the final farewell and continue enjoying the game’s immersive horror universe.
