The Simpsons x Fortnite Mini-Season is on Its Way

Key Highlights:

  • Epic Games teases The Simpsons x Fortnite crossover ahead of a mini-season launch in early November.
  • Map leaks show a full Springfield takeover, complete with Bart’s treehouse and cel-shaded visuals.
  • Rumoured characters include Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa Simpson, with Ned Flanders, and Krusty The Clown, with themed skins and locations.

Fortnite’s next big crossover might be its boldest yet. Epic Games is preparing to bring The Simpsons into the battle royale, with leaks and in-game teases suggesting the entire island will soon transform into Springfield. Players have already spotted the first clue: a cel-shaded sprig growing at Creepy Camps, which is expected to evolve into Bart Simpson’s treehouse over the next few days.

The location’s art style immediately stands out, it’s distinctly cartoonish, not like the rest of Fortnite’s assets.

If you visit the spot now, you’ll find players swarming the area trying to catch a glimpse of what’s next, as well as a rare 15% chance of spotting Kang and Kodos (upped from 5%), the show’s recurring alien duo, who briefly appear near the Battle Bus before vanishing into thin air. It’s exactly the kind of layered tease Epic loves to use before its themed seasons.

From what’s been leaked, the collaboration will do far more than just add skins. The entire Fortnite map is reportedly being redrawn in The Simpsons’ style, turning familiar POIs into Springfield landmarks.

Moe’s Tavern, the Power Plant, and even the Simpsons’ family home are all expected to feature. If this is accurate, it would make this event the most ambitious licensed crossover Fortnite has ever attempted, a complete visual overhaul rather than just cosmetic tie-ins.

The leaked key art adds more fuel to the fire. It shows Homer and Marge sprinting alongside a cartoon-styled Peely, with Ned Flanders gliding above and Bart piloting a mech suit similar to previous Rick and Morty events. The same artwork hints at new pickaxes, gliders, and vehicles, including Homer’s pink car and a UFO resembling Kang and Kodos’ ship. I’ve seen plenty of Fortnite collaborations over the years, but none have gone this far in merging aesthetics. If the final product really keeps the full cel-shaded look, it’ll be a technical and artistic feat for Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline.

The Simpsons mini-season is also expected to mark the transition to Chapter 7, with a live event reportedly set for November 1. Epic’s mini-seasons usually run for about a month and often feature their own battle pass, quests, and temporary maps.

The map leak shows a smaller island this time, which could encourage faster-paced matches, a design decision that aligns with the community’s recent feedback about long end-game pacing. As a long-time Simpsons fan, I can’t help but appreciate how fitting this crossover feels. The series has always been about parodying modern culture, and Fortnite’s chaotic, self-aware universe seems like the perfect playground for that.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Epic has tapped into Matt Groening’s animated world. Back in 2023, Fortnite hosted a Futurama crossover that brought Fry, Leela, and Bender to the island, complete with the Planet Express ship crash-landing near Mega City.

That event laid the groundwork for how well Groening’s distinct humour and art style blend with Fortnite’s universe, and The Simpsons collaboration looks ready to take it even further.

If Epic really delivers a fully cel-shaded Springfield with dynamic quests and crossover humour, it could be one of the most memorable limited events the game has ever hosted.

For now, players can explore the Creepy Camps sprig, keep an eye out for Kang and Kodos, and wait for the TV that’s rumoured to appear beside the treehouse, likely showing a short Simpsons-style teaser to kick things off.
