Grave Robber is Merchant Request #4 in Resident Evil 4 Remake and requires Leon to destroy the matching emblems on two tombstones in the Church graveyard.
The twin graves sit together near the centre-front of the graveyard. Break both V-shaped emblems with a firearm or knife, then report back to the Merchant for 2 Spinels.
You can destroy the emblems before collecting the Blue Request Note. The objective still counts, so there is no need to reload if you spot and break the matching graves first.
Where to Find the Grave Robber Blue Request Note
The Grave Robber Blue Request Note is behind the Church in Chapter 3.
After reaching the locked Church entrance, take the path around the right side of the building. Follow it towards the typewriter room and the dead end behind the Church.
The note is beside the red treasure chest containing the Elegant Headdress.
Its objective is simple:
- Objective: Destroy the tombstone emblems
- Area: Church
- Reward: 2 Spinels
The request note explains that the graves belong to twins who joined Los Illuminados, which is why the Merchant wants their matching emblems destroyed.
Collecting the note is not required before completing the objective. If you already destroyed both emblems while passing through the graveyard, the request can still be completed.
Where to Find the Twin Tombstones
Return to the graveyard directly in front of the Church.
Only one Ganado patrols the graveyard, carrying a shovel. Deal with him first if you want to inspect the tombstones without interruption.
The twin tombstones are near the centre-front of the Church graveyard, close to the large tree.
Look for two tombstones standing immediately beside one another. Both carry the same pointed V-shaped emblem, making them different from the surrounding graves.
The matching emblems on the adjacent tombstones are the two targets required for Grave Robber.
You do not need to search every grave individually. Once you find the adjacent pair with identical symbols, you have the correct tombstones.
How to Destroy the Tombstone Emblems
Attack the emblem attached to the front of each tombstone.
You can:
- shoot each emblem with a firearm
- slash each emblem with the knife
I prefer the knife here because both targets are stationary, so there is little reason to spend handgun ammunition on them.
Destroying the second emblem completes the objective immediately.
Report back to any Merchant to receive 2 Spinels, which are spent through the Trade menu on items that cannot normally be bought with Pesetas.
When Does Grave Robber Become Missable?
Grave Robber can still be completed in Chapter 5 if you leave the Church without finishing it during Chapter 3.
After rescuing Ashley, Leon can return through the graveyard while travelling back towards the Village.
The final cutoff is the rope bridge leading to the Villa encounter near the end of Chapter 5. Crossing that bridge starts the cabin sequence and prevents Leon from returning to the earlier Village areas.
Complete Grave Robber before crossing the bridge if the request is still unfinished.
