Microsoft Rewards Introduces Streak Protection Feature

Microsoft Rewards New Feature

Key Highlights:

  • Microsoft Rewards has added a new “Streak Protection” feature to help users maintain their streaks and earn more points.
  • The feature allows users to “freeze” their streak for up to 14 missed days per year if they cannot complete their daily activities.
  • Xbox has also introduced a new way to earn more free store credit by participating in challenges and maintaining streaks.

Maximising Your Microsoft Rewards

Microsoft Rewards is a popular program that incentivises users to engage with Microsoft products and services by offering points that can be redeemed for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, and charitable donations.

One of the key aspects of the program is the ability to build and maintain a streak, which unlocks bonus points as users consistently complete their daily activities.

However, missing a single day can reset the streak, nullifying the accumulated bonus points. To address this issue, Microsoft has introduced a helpful new feature called “Streak Protection.”

Introducing Streak Protection

As the name suggests, Streak Protection is a lifeline for Microsoft Rewards users who occasionally find themselves unable to complete their daily tasks.

This feature allows users to “freeze” their streak for up to 14 missed days per year, preventing it from being reset.

This means that even if life gets in the way, users can protect their hard-earned streak and continue earning bonus points without interruption.

Initially, Streak Protection was rolled out to a limited number of users in March, but it has since become more widely available.

Video Game Tracker’s Alan Feely posted on X/Twitter that he reported seeing the feature on more Rewards accounts, and user reception has been mixed.

While some users have expressed relief at the ability to maintain their streak during holidays/vacations or busy periods, others have highlighted potential drawbacks.

One concern raised by users is the need to remember to turn off Streak Protection after using it, as leaving it on can unintentionally burn through the limited number of protected days.

Additionally, some users have reported glitches or oversights, where activating Streak Protection for a single day has resulted in notifications about running out of protected days, even when they have been completing their daily activities.

Earning Free Store Credit on Xbox

In addition to the Streak Protection feature on Microsoft Rewards, Xbox has introduced a new way for players to earn free store credit.

By participating in challenges, both in-game and on the official website, users can accumulate points that can be exchanged for free store credit, effectively allowing them to “purchase” games at no cost.

It shouldn’t be long now until this is rolled out to the masses. So be sure to check out our Xbox page to stay updated on any news in the future.
