- A free demo is now available on all major platforms except Switch.
- DLC “A Pirate’s Fortune” launches May 15, expanding the campaign.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will land on Nintendo Switch 2 this September.
While the game won’t launch with the new console in June, it will arrive shortly after, giving Switch fans their first taste of a modern open-world Star Wars title on Nintendo hardware.
Originally released in late 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Star Wars Outlaws skipped Nintendo entirely, until now.
The Switch 2 version will launch on September 4th, a few months after the console’s June 5th release.
This version of the game appears to retain much of the visual fidelity from its PS5/Xbox counterparts.
Ubisoft shared brief footage during the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan, showcasing what current-gen visuals might look like on Nintendo’s newest hardware.
For tech fans, it’s a glimpse into what the Switch 2 can really do.
Ubisoft Drops Free Demo – But Not for Switch (Yet)
In a surprise move, Ubisoft also released a free demo of Star Wars Outlaws for all major platforms, except the Switch 2. Available on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic Games, the demo lets players explore up to 3 hours of gameplay, including story missions and free-roam segments.
While demos typically launch ahead of a game’s release, this one comes months after the original launch window, likely to coincide with the Switch 2 news and upcoming DLC.
“We wanted more players to experience what Outlaws has to offer,”
Ubisoft
As of now, there’s no official word on when, or if, the demo will appear on the Switch 2 eShop.
Ubisoft also revealed the next chapter in Kay Vess’s intergalactic crime saga: A Pirate’s Fortune.
The story expansion arrives May 15th and sees Kay team up with Hondo Ohnaka, a beloved character from The Clone Wars, to take on a new threat, Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders.
This DLC adds fresh environments, new missions, and unlockable gear.
Based on early previews, it promises to be meatier than the Day One bonus content that launched with the base game.
Ubisoft’s continued support suggests the galaxy isn’t done expanding quite yet.
