Lara Croft embarks on her defining 90s adventures once again thanks to Tomb Raider: 1-2-3 Remastered, arriving February 2024. The aptly titled collection bundles enhanced versions of the original landmark Tomb Raider trilogy.
Collection Includes Enhanced Versions of All Content
Announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, the remaster compiles Tomb Raider (1996), Tomb Raider II (1997), and Tomb Raider III (1998), including the Unfinished Business, Golden Mask, and The Lost Artefact expansions. Developer Aspyr aims to make Lara Croft’s simulated-3D pioneers accessible on contemporary platforms.
The revival follows recent cinematic reboots casting a grittier, more vulnerable Lara. But many classic fans pine for the campy action and expansive tombs that kicked off the franchise. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Trilogy scratches that nostalgic itch.
Players can switch between original polygonal presentation and a modern widescreen overhaul. Gameplay mechanics stay true to form, for better or worse. Though control and camera improvements seem likely.
