Ubisoft has shared new details on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, highlighting fresh missions, expanded progression systems and major improvements to Edward Kenway’s island hideout.
Although the remake keeps the original experience largely intact, Resynced goes far beyond a visual upgrade. Rebuilt in the Anvil Engine, the game features enhanced lighting, dynamic weather, 4K resolution at 60 FPS, faster loading times and extensive changes to stealth, combat and parkour. Naval gameplay has also received additional options compared to the 2013 release.
One area receiving significant attention is Great Inagua, Edward’s personal hideout. In the original game, players could purchase upgrades that unlocked new features and bonuses. Ubisoft has expanded that system in Resynced, making the island feel more alive as players invest in its development.
Returning upgrades such as the Campfire, Harbormaster and Tavern are joined by new additions including the Fisherman’s Wharf and Treasure Dealer. The General Store has also been redesigned with three upgrade tiers, changing both the items available and the appearance of the building itself. As Great Inagua grows, unique residents including Milo van der Graaff and Edward’s butler Bernard Woodhouse will bring more activity to the island.
Ubisoft also confirmed that players can recruit three brand-new officers for the Jackdaw. Two become available after unlocking Great Inagua, while the third arrives later in the story. Alongside previously teased changes to the ending, the developer has expanded story content involving Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet.
Mission design has also evolved. Stealth sections no longer instantly fail if players are discovered during tailing sequences, while Templar Hunts and Contracts have been redesigned to better complement the updated parkour and stealth systems. Players can also skip time, allowing them to tackle objectives during the day, at sunset or under the cover of darkness.
As additional information, Ubisoft has confirmed that the remake includes a new endgame chapter called “A World Without Gold”, which introduces eight missions centred on Blackbeard. There is also a new Sequence 8 treasure quest and an additional Sequence 9 mission honouring the legacy of Stede Bonnet. Many assassination missions feature optional objectives and hidden rewards, while new parkour routes, scripted events and collectibles have been added throughout the Caribbean. Players will also be able to select between Forgiving, Intended and Hard difficulty modes.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
