Delighting Mortal Kombat fans across the globe, NetherRealm Studios recently gave an exhilarating sneak peek into Mortal Kombat 1 via a brand new Lin Kuei Trailer. The ensemble of classic ninjas taking centre stage in this much-anticipated fighting game is truly a sight to behold. Reimagined rivalries, fresh designs, and old friendships come to life as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Rain and Smoke, the beloved Lin Kuei clan, are back in action.
Mortal Kombat 1: Unmasking the Classic Ninja Squad
The excitement doesn’t end there, as the cast of Mortal Kombat 1 is set to welcome a slew of new Kameo Fighters. Cyrax and Sektor, first introduced in MK 3, are making a comeback alongside Frost, a character we first met in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Not only did NetherRealm reveal the spectacular new cast but they also treated fans to an exclusive showcase of the characters’ battle manoeuvres and finishing moves, in all their brutally extravagant splendour.
The influx of fresh faces to the main roster and Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 is just a tantalising glimpse of what the game holds. If NetherRealm’s earlier previews serve as a roadmap, Mortal Kombat enthusiasts can anticipate a thrilling array of around 24 kombatants and 16 Kameos. Fan-favourite Rain was recently teased on Twitter by Ed Boon which we reported on just a couple of days ago.
A few lucky MK fans recently got a taste of what’s to come with the stress test weekend the developers put together. Now a new gameplay trailer drop is just what the doctor ordered and the game is definitely gaining momentum.
The sneak peek also provided a tantalising glimpse into the story mode of MK 1. Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Rain and Smoke, the Lin Kuei ninjas, are all set to embark on a daring mission to infiltrate a compound. And while the famous four’s camaraderie is evident, the hint of ideological divergence, particularly between Scorpion and Sub-Zero, is a fascinating subplot to watch out for.
