SF6 Terry Bogard Gameplay Trailer
This addition to the roster marks a significant moment for fighting game enthusiasts, bridging two iconic franchises in a highly anticipated collaboration.
Terry Bogard will be fully integrated into all three game modes of Street Fighter 6, including Fighting Ground, Battle Hub, and as a new Master in World Tour’s Metro City.
This comprehensive inclusion ensures that players can experience Terry’s gameplay across various aspects of the Beat ’em up.
Let’s break down what players can expect from the Legendary Hungry Wolf:
Signature Moves and Fighting Style
Terry’s move set incorporates mechanics from the Fatal Fury series, offering a blend of familiar techniques for long-time fans and exciting new options for Street Fighter players. Some of his iconic attacks include:
- Power Wave: A ground-travelling fireball projectile with light and medium versions, offering different speeds and sizes.
- Burn Knuckle: A forward thrusting punch useful for closing distances and surprising opponents. The light version, Quick Burn, includes a hook followed by a downward punch that can’t be blocked while crouching.
- Passing Sway: A unique target combo that moves Terry to the back “lane” of the stage upon hit, allowing him to reappear on either side of his opponent with a Jumping Lariat or Jumping Knee.
- Buster Wolf: Terry’s Level 1 Super Art, an invincible-on-startup charge attack that fires off a blast of energy.
- Power Geyser: His Level 2 Super Art, erupting a volcanic explosion that can be followed up with Twin Geyser and Triple Geyser for devastating combos.
- Rising Fang: Terry’s Level 3 Super Art, a lethal sequence showcasing his iconic moves and ending with a powerful blast.
Additional Content
Alongside Terry, Capcom is releasing new content for SF6:
- New Outfit: Players can acquire Terry’s Outfit 2, inspired by his appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. This retro look, featuring a brown jacket and jeans, can be unlocked by maxing out your bond with Terry in World Tour or purchased with Fighter Coins.
- New Stage: The Pao Pao Cafe 6 stage will be available, filled with Easter eggs and cameos from the Fatal Fury series. Year 2 Ultimate Pass owners will receive automatic access to this stage, while others can purchase it individually with Fighter Coins or Drive Tickets.
Availability and Access
Terry Bogard will be available as part of the Season 2 Fighter Pass for Street Fighter 6. While the exact release schedule for other DLC characters remains unclear, we know that M. Bison has already arrived, with Elena scheduled for Spring 2025 and Mai Shiranui set for Winter 2025.
Year 2 Ultimate Pass holders will be granted early access to Terry and the exclusive new stage on September 24th. Other players can purchase Terry individually using in-game currency.
Terry’s unique fighting style, which emphasises close-quarters combat mixed with energy projectiles, promises to add a new dimension to SF6’s already diverse roster.
His inclusion is likely to attract Fatal Fury fans to the Street Fighter series, potentially expanding the player base and enriching the competitive scene.
Moreover, the careful adaptation of Terry’s moves from Fatal Fury to the Street Fighter system demonstrates Capcom’s commitment to preserving the essence of guest characters while ensuring they fit seamlessly into the game’s mechanics.
The only downside to this crossover is the fact that not many of the new generation will know of the Fatal Fury titles.
Perhaps this collab can resurrect the fighting franchise in the near future.
It will also be interesting to see how good the new character is. Will Terry Bogard become a top-tier character in competitive play? How will his unique mechanics, like the Passing Sway, impact high-level strategies?
These questions and more will be answered when players finally get their hands on this legendary character.
